I've gotten so addicted with Call of Duty that I think I don't mind it having those glitches at all. And the fact that I kept on playing although its just something repetitive to be playing the same multiplayer match over and over again just to get myself leveled up to the 50th level 15th prestige.
If you're not a COD player, once you prestiged, you'll start over at level 1 on that prestige level, meaning as if you're starting as a beginner except for the fact that you get a new prestige sign which signifies to others you are a PRO especially if you really are playing like a pro like what I do so often like getting a kill/death ratio of more than 2 or 3. I've even gotten a k/d of 28 once where I've gotten myself 28 kills and only 1 death, how good am I, you tell me.
But seriously, once you're addicted to it, that's it, your life is ruined. Why? Think about it yourself.

Transitional Phase
You know what transitions are, and no, I'm not talking about those transitional metals on the periodic table. What I meant was the stage in which I'm transitioning from my Theoretical Part of my course to my Clinical Part, and yeah, I really am looking forward to clinicals.
Why? Cause it ain't like in my earlier years, where I have to study study study to understand and memorize things. Its much more exciting from now onwards that I get to do things hands-on, (not fully though, I ain't a doctor yet) like taking patients history, look at the medical equipments, do physical exams, etc.
Well, I haven't exactly start going to hospitals just yet, as in, not going the the whole day for a week, but yeah, I'm in the transition phase like I mentioned earlier. I do have to go to hospitals, but only for a few hours, and its like we have to meet patients in a large group of, erm, lets see, like 25 person a group. And after about 6 weeks from now, I'll start going to hospitals only. 3 weeks each in 3 different hospitals, should be exciting.
Though the upcoming part is quite exciting as it sounds (from where did I hear about them?), there'll only be a few Malaysians left from March onwards. For the time being, there're about 80 of us Malaysians here in a class of about 250 students, and it then be reduced to about 15 if I'm not mistaken by 5th March 2011. Why? Cause the rest of them will be returning to Malaysia and continue their clinicals in Malaysia.
Anyway, I just hope everything will be just fine after this, or if it won't be fine, I hope it gets better than just fine.
Oh right, before I forget, I had my White Coat Ceremony last Thursday. That's the ceremony that marks our transition from Theoretical to Clinical, plus, we get a free white coat, yay.
Toodles~

dusty old blog
You know, I realized its been way over 6 months since I last step foot on the "Blogosphere", and then when I returned, my first post was some dissatisfaction expression. Haha, by the way, I shall have my exams starting Tuesday 8th December 2009, and ends by Wednesday 16th December 2009.
I'm eager to finish the exams, cause I really can't wait to play lots of games that I acquire the past 2 months (I have 40+ games now yet only finished 4 of them, sigh). Also, if anyone would like to buy a PS3 game from me, do tell me.
Next up, my hockey stats so far, I've assissted 3 times, won 2 short corners which saw my team score goals from, and scored 1 goal. Yay!! Compared to last year, same month, I only have assisted once.
Phew, wish it could transform.
And look inside, the armrest even have an ambroidery of the Autobots insignia, yeay.

I know, I may not be a Transformers freak, but hey, I really wanted the 2010 Camaro like in these pictures:
Damn its nice.

Although I already have 4 Bumblebees in my possession, I think this one I shouldn't miss, but wait, this edition is only available in the States. Awww, damn, should've get someone to buy them for me, and send it back to Malaysia. Don't care if its road tax costs me thousands (just look at the engines, 6.2 litres, what the hell?).
So friends, want a be my best buddy forever? Get me this car, hahahaha.

They have to please thousands, you? Only a few, yet you fail to do so.
Amin

What craze after exams?
Aku dah gila. Back to Malaysia for summer holiday" craze!!!!!

This is My Game
University College Dublin 3 2008/2009 achievement:
Winners Walters Cup
Runners Up Division 8 Leinster League
Runners Up Junior Cup
Runners Up Division 8 Leinster League
Runners Up Junior Cup
Though we failed to win all three (only won 1), this year was a very glorious year for UCD3, with the recruitment of 7 youth players (including me), managed to get into 2 cup finals (I'm not even sure how many cups they have in Leinster Hockey though), and tailing by only 2 pts to the league winners. All in all, Ridhwan Noordin scored 2 goals and made 2 (or maybe 3, can't remember) goal assists for the team in 9 (of 14) league appearances and 4 (of 7) cup appearances.
So, enough of the summary. I don't care what people say, my friends in the US said, field hockey is a game for girls, guys play ice hockey, go hell with them. Then girls in your country must be braver than your guys, cause ice hockey is played with full paddings all over your body whilst field hockey with pads also, but only on the shins. Lame to think hockey is a game for girls ONLY.
I don't care, people keep saying its such a waste for picking to buy a hockey stick worth GBP150 (RRP: GBP300) instead of going to watch the most supported football club in the world (I think), Man Utd playing against Arsenal in the so called Theatre of Dreams. I'm not saying I don't love Man Utd, I do, but hockey is a part of me. Why would I go watch Man Utd lift the trophy, when I can lift my own trophy (my team's trophy), and even get my own medals?

Sedarlah wahai Ridhwan
You know, recently, my posts are only related to my career in hockey. Now, I realize, I have to really strive for my exams as well. Tomorrow will start the week of the final lecture week, and then, we're off to study week, followed by exams on 6th May. 17 days left, to study, ooops, I've forgotten something here, language exam on Wednesday 22nd April (oral) and Friday 24th April (written). Should really get on working, perhaps 110% instead of just 100%.
Those of you out there done with exams, having exams now, or will have exams later, I wish you all the best of luck in whatever it is.

Treble in Leinster Hockey (UCD 3)
Its been long since I've given any updates on my well being and such. As of today, my hockey team, the UCD 3 is standing on top of Division 8, with one point ahead of Kilkenny, finalist for the Junior Challenge Cup where the final will be on this Sunday 19th April and finalist for the Walters Cup, on which will be played next Sunday 26th April.
Our last game for the league of the year would be on 25th April, a day before Junior Challenge Cup final, in which we really hope none would encounter any injury, (except for Steve, whom we anticipate might get hit again, due to his "bad-luck", sorry Steve, hope you'll have a better luck this time). On 25th, we'll play against St. Brendan's, the team in 3rd place currently whilst the title challenger, Kilkenny, will play against Wicklow, the team in last spot on the table. If we win, we'll win the division and might get promoted, but if we lost, just hope for Kilkenny to only manage a draw against Wicklow so we still win by goal margin. The league table can be seen here.
So, this Sunday, the Junior Challenge Cup, we'll play against Kilkenny, whom we call our archrivals, since we only managed a draw with them once, and lost the other game in the league. However, based on our track record, we're better than Kilkenny in this cup as in all our matches, we won by a margin of at least 5 goals. If we win, we've bagged a medal before playing the following 2 games next week. Go UCD 3.
As for the other cup, we'll be playing against Glennane, a team I think is 3 divisions ahead of us. No fear, as we have beaten in the semi final, YMCA which is 2 divisions ahead of us. The cup draws can be seen here. And by winning this cup (assuming we won the earlier 2 games), we managed a treble this year.
We really hope, that we'll win all three titles. Please dear readers, pray for our wins, and I thank you all for that. Peace be upon you. Salam

That which matters the least should never give way to that which matters the most.
I really think just by the title itself, you guys would have understood what I'd like to post here. You see, I've been holding on to this proverb for quite some time since I found it printed on the side of Dyla's (my girlfriend) bottle.
So, you see, why I'd like to tell you about this proverb is so that you would know what to do when you must choose between 2 things with different priorities in your life. However, if you choose the one with higher priority, does it mean you'll succeed in whatever you do if you ignore the one matters least.
To give you an example here, last week, my coursemates and I, had an MCQ examination on Wednesday. And because of the MCQ examination, which is Cardiac Biology and Vascular Biology, combined you get Cardiovascular (nah, they didn't combine the papers anyway), most of my lecture mates did not came to lectures not related to the subjects mentioned, or perhaps, not relevant to the MCQ exam that will be held on Wednesday. On Monday, we had a Vascular Biology lecture, they all came, at the end of the lecture, one person asked, will today's lecture be included in the MCQ on Wednesday? And Prof Steve Pennington answered, No, it won't be asked in the MCQ exam.
Then, the next day, not even half of the class came for PHPS20010 (Personal and Population Health) lecture, and that made the lecturer raged with madness, "You think this module is not important?". And then, the next day, the exam day itself (MCQ Exam starts at 1900hrs), we have Renal at 13oohrs, Cardiac lecture at 1500hrs was cancelled and at 1600hrs, we have Vascular biology. Guess what, not even half turned up for Renal Biology and whats worse, not even a quarter turned up for Vascular Biology. Steve Pennington, at the end of the lecture told us, "I really appreciate that a few of you managed to come to this lecture despite having an MCQ exam this evening. What we'll do is, pass around a piece of paper, write down your names and I might be able to give you a 10% extra marks for your MCQ".
See, what did the others miss? 10% extra marks, thats quite a lot considering its an MCQ paper where we have negative markings for mistakes. The point is, not about the extra marks they missed, but seriously, the effort and will to turn up for lecture. Nah, who cares if I'm mumbling about it, its their own choice to go for the lectures, or not to go.
And by the way, to relate with the political scenario in our country (Malaysia), I think those politicians in Perak did no wrong. We might think matters about what they do is not important and the country's economical state should be given priority above all, but hey, that which matters the least should never give way to that which matters the most. Bear this is in mind.

My Hypothesis
"Intelligence is a type of polygenic inheritance."
So, I've been reading about intelligence, and the above statement is what I'm trying to hypothesize (well, I did the hypothesis with a friend of mine when we were in KMB, Hafiz was his name). Indeed, there were, or perhaps, there are scientists suggesting Intelligence is inherited and only minority of it is due to environment. This is a statement by Steve Brady which could be read from an article here.
"On the basis of these results, he concluded that 80% of observed differences in human intelligence were due to inherited genetic factors, and only 20% to the environment, and his published figures appeared to support this firmly".
But, I haven't found any stating that Intelligence is a polygenic inheritance (just read here for brief info of it but you might want to try reading from biology textbook for clarifications). However, if you guys could find any, just give me a shout, cause I didn't really took much time searching for it. And so, I had a thought again, of what me and Hafiz simply thought about about 2 years ago, cause we learnt about polygenic inheritance in biology class that time.
At first, I too think that intelligence is inherited, but then, try considering this scenario. You might see or observe parents who are intelligent (depends on how intelligent you think they are, cause its subjective right?), would produce children who are indeed, as intelligent as them, more intelligent or less intelligent than them. But then, sometimes, they might produce a child who is usually called 'the black sheep of the family' cause, you know, this child might be very dumb. This is only an example of the scenario of what I was thinking that time, don't take it seriously. So, if it really is normal inheritance, all the children should be the same right? Thats why I think it might've been polygenic inheritance instead.
I'll give an example of what I'm thinking, say, the upper case would be gene for more intelligent and lower case vice versa.

Father: ABcDEFghIJKLMNopqRSTuVWxYZ
Mother: aBCdeFGHIJklMnOPQrSTUvWXYZ
Mother: aBCdeFGHIJklMnOPQrSTUvWXYZ
So, the father has 18 intelligent gene and 8 non-intelligent gene and the same goes for the mother. If they have 3 children, the inheritance could be like this
Child 1: ABcDEFgHIJKLMNoPQRSTUVWXYZ
Child 2: ABCdEFgHIJklMnOPqRSTuVWXYZ
Child 3: aBcdeFghIJKlMnopqrSTuvWxYZ
Child 2: ABCdEFgHIJklMnOPqRSTuVWXYZ
Child 3: aBcdeFghIJKlMnopqrSTuvWxYZ
As you can see, I've computed that the first child is very intelligent, having a number of 23 genes for intelligence, the second being less intelligent with 19 genes for intelligence, and poor third child, who is the most not intelligent of the three having only 11 gene for intelligence. This could happen in reality right? But who knows? As far as I've looked, read, searched, heard, studied, learnt, no one has yet to make a research on intelligence being polygenically inherited. Anyway, I still agree that environment really influences one's intelligence, so, my hypothesis should be corrected.
"Intelligence is mostly due to polygenic inheritance."
I might want to make a research into this, and try to get a nobel prize myself (haha, dreaming). Perhaps, someone before me could prove that my hypothesis is wrong, or, any of you reading this could show me it really is wrong. No harm thinking right? At least when I think, I trigger more brain cells to be activated, hence I get more intelligent, hehe.
p/s: I know may of you wouldn't agree with it, but seriously I ask you, did everyone immediately accepted Galileo Galilei's idea on Gravity?

Why do I want to be a doctor?
Well, to all you people who are currently studying medicine, or would be doing so in the future, or will go for med school interviews, this might be one question you hate most (Cause I do).
It seems that almost all med school interviews have this question ready to be asked to the applicants. Even counselors of the preparatory institutions (er, the one you attend before going to med school la), would remind you of this question, which damns almost all med school interview applicants (sorry I might have exaggerated this sentence).
But seriously, I did received this question, not once, not twice, but erm, can't remember how many times, maybe 4 times, I think, in all 4 interviews I had to go to before being able to attend UCD. And how the hell did I answer this question?
Again I tell you, I really never liked this question, and of course, the lamest answer would be, "I like to help people" or "I want to be useful to the society". Tell me, would such answers dazzle the interviewers? Hell no, they want a better answer, an answer that could assure them they're selecting the right applicant, an answer that would show them that you really have the 'material' to be a doctor, an answer that.........
Aaaah, who cares?! I'm already in med school, and enjoying my life as one, haha. But how did I answer anyway? Spontaneously, without rehearsing. And I couldn't even remember what my answer was (exaggeration again).

The title, well, its not Fergie's song of course. Today, I woke up at 7.30, still sleepy though, cause I slept at 2 am last night. But, have to wake up, despite being sleepy (was a sleepy head once, haha). Went straight to the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth, etc. Then I wore my baselayer, pack up my hockey stuffs, namely, my shinpads, gloves, socks and turf shoes. Oh yeah, not to forget, the jersey I borrowed from Adli, number 14.
And so, I went of to the sports centre, and gathered with the rest of the team there. Put my stuffs into the back of Mic's car. Then, we began our journey to Naas, which took only about 45 minutes (Gary said it would be 1+ hour though, haha). We arrived early (9.00am), really early, cause the game's not starting till 10.30am, and the turf was occupied at that time, by kids playing hurling.
At about 10.00, the doors of Naas sports centre was finally open. We went into the changing rooms and change to our gears of course. Bla bla bla, then, the match was about to start. I wasn't starting today, good thing since I still feel sleepy and a bit, er, cold to take of my sweater. The game started and it was not yet 2 minutes before the opponent break the deadlock (what the hell?less than 2 minutes). O h yeah, forgot to mention something, the UCD 3 (us of course) are currently in Division 8 (and on top of the table, yeehaaa) whilst our opponent today, Naas 2 is now in Division 7.
Before the clock hit 10 minutes, we got our first short corner and thanks to that, Conor manage to score a goal after the ball rebounded to him. And then, 10 minutes before half time, we got a short corner again and this time, Davide hit the ball real hard at the tip of D line and managed to get ourselves in front with 1 goal. 5 minutes before half time, Robbie was shown a yellow card and suspended for 5 minutes, so the team was down to 10 men now. Lucky enough, they managed to pull it through the 1st half by holding on the 1 goal margin.
Ok, of to the 2nd half, I still ain't starting (sebab still tak mau bukak sweater, haha). But then, Davide told me to warm up, cause I'll be going on for Robbie after 3-5 minutes (whaa, it felt very cold when I took of my sweater). Right before I came on, Robbie managed to strike a goal and we went 2 goals front. Eventually, before the game restarted after the goal, Robbie was subbed in for me.
Played as usual, running around here and there (not really here and there lah, cause I have my position right). The 1st short corner since I came on the pitch, Richie (sorry if I wrongly spelled it) didn't manage to inject the ball well, I ran to the ball and push it out of D to reorganize our play and ran straightly for the near post. Richie hit it to me from out D and the ball merely grazed my stick and the goalie's pads before it went wide (supposed to be our ball but the umpires did not see the ball graze the goalie's pads though). Still 2 up.
Next attack, I received the ball, dribbled only a bit and passed it to Davide and I charged forward as hard as I can. Davide passed the ball to Neil and he hit but deflected out again by the goalie, which went in front of me, swept my stick on the turf and the nex thing happened was the banging sound of the soundboard at the back of goal. "Finally, I scored my first goal this season!" I shouted, everyone was glad I did, even John was (well, John wasn't always good with me).
We recoiled, and when they started the game again, John got the ball before the opponent managed to get through our 25 yards line, and I ran hard up front, and received the ball from John. Dribbled the ball pass 2 defenders (or was it 1, can't remember), and accidently hit the ball when I got in D, but, it wasn't really a fastball (cause I really didn't intend to try a shot on goal), and was received by Davide, who made a turn and swung his stick for the 5th goal of the macth. Wonderful, now I have 1 goal scored and 1 assist.
A short corner was awarded to us short after and this time, Davide injected the ball, and Richie hit the ball hard to goal, GOAL!!! Thats our 6th. Match restarted real fast and Robbie (who came on for John) managed to get the ball at half line, passed it to Neil before Neil tried on goal, goalie blocked and Robbie got the rebound, hit hard to left post where Davide is, and deflected the ball for our 7th and final goal. 7-1 against a team one division higher than we are. Final whistle, and there, "Ridhwan got a goal today", says Ivan, and again, everyone congratulated me. Haha, it felt good being the highlight. This is my first goal so far as a player for UCD 3. Finally, I ended my goal draught after 14 months with no goals in competitive matches. And yeah, I pretty much still remember my goal 14 months ago, a ball squared by Izzudin Subli to me and I tab a bit to goal, nostalgic, haha, that was during Pesta Hoki in USM.
p/s: now, you guys could figure out the title right? haha
