After lots of procedures, and failure in getting the proposals approved, finally, we've managed to conduct a hockey friendly match against the Sekolah Menengah Jugra, also, the district representatives of Kuala Langat.
Somehow, we've lost the game with a scoreline of 2-0, both in the first half. Yet, this is not what I'm frustrated about. The thing that got me frustrated was the fact that most of the team members did not attend trainings regularly and hence, it made them have lack of skills and whats worst is their basic skills were not sharpen.
In the first half, I applied the 4-2-4 tactics, where with that, I hope to get a good and smooth flow amongst the half and wings. But then, with our lack of practice, I doubt they'll do well with the tactics used and finally, what happen was they fail to make every chances pay. But I have to admit that our halfs and top forward were very much useful as their flow of play were great. Its just the wing play wasn't up to what I expected it would be.
Our defence line were also poor, where, instead of following with the team's rythm, they made their own and there, the flow from the backs to the offence weren't there. But, I'd like to express my gratitude to our lastman, which has tried very well to block every balls hit by the opponent.
And then, into the 2nd half, I reverted to the hockey team's original tactics, 5-3-2. I did so as I see that we really need more defence player to protect our goal area. And so, I have no wings to play it wide. And luckily, in the 2nd half, we managed to safe guard our goal and the match ended with 2-0.
Credits should be given to Casper, Aziz, Azmi and Pak Din. These are those who played well throughout and amongst the 5 person(with me amongst them) that got compliments for playing well from the coach of the opposing team.
P/S: I also found that we are the types that are used to playing on turfs. So, maybe this was one of our disadvantage when plaing against them on grass. Whatever it is, really hope we could improve ourselves for the future.
